Sweets for the Soul...

I had the opportunity to travel down to the Los Angeles/Hollywood area on Friday and stopped in at Sweets for the Soul.  A friend of mine has been raving about the place telling me how amazing the desserts were and how photogenic they are.  Well, he was spot on for both areas and I have to say that I had the best darn brownie that I've ever had.  If a brownie can be amazing it was pretty darn close in my book.  After my first sample, and before I left, I picked up a set for the kids and Denise to try.

Before I would let them eat them though I wanted to photograph them because they look as good as they taste.  Plus the heart shape is just really neat and has a very romantic feel too it.  As you can see in the image in the upper left  I was using continuous light through the china ball that my buddy Mike passed down my way.  I actually have four compact florescent bulbs in there with a four-by adapter.  I was very pleased with how well it work and equally pleased with the way the images worked out.

Before I completely finished I asked Desirae to "model" with one of the brownies.  She wanted to eat it but was very good playing along until I got the shot I was looking for.  This shot here was actually made with a large Photoflex LiteDome through an AB800 with a silver reflect underneath for a little fill.

OBTW, the brownies were just as good as when I had them!
